what the hell is a lalaloopsy

Lalaloopsy is a toy doll line started in 2010 whos main thing is ragdoll-esque dolls but they're made out of plastic. interesting innit.
they've been on and off releasing for a decade now, with like over 150 unique dolls at this point.
my personal connection to them? uhh a little weak if im being honest lol. ive had the search for pillow dvd since forever (and i remember liking it a lot as a kid); i have two mini dolls (specifically a berry jars n jam from series 6, who i did not remember being a character until i searched it up, sorry girlypop- and a peanut big top who i cant find anywhere else..???? i have no idea what series shes from because she has a completely different dress from any listing of her mini ive seen so far. its not even a cool looking dress its actually kind of ugly. sad); and i swear on my life i had a 12 inch doll of someone from the cast??? but nobody else in my family can remember me having one??? i very distinctly remember the texture of the hair!!! im not crazy!!!!!!!!
oh and of course. i think the dolls look really cute. the ragdoll aesthetic has haunted me from before i knew about raggedy ann, it seems.

anyways, ive started passively looking for minis in order to expand my collection bc i think that'll be fun. ive yet to find anything in person but i hold onto false hope because i found a reseller booth at a fair selling a 12 inch doll and i found something presumably from a lalaloopsy playset at my local goodwill. i know theres lalaloopsy stuff in circulation GIVE ME MY MINIS !!!! GIVE ME THEM !!!! RAAHHHH
and also if im lucky id like to buy a 12 inch pillow doll but every time i look online people are listing her for over a hundred dollars and i am not dedicated to this cause to drop a hundred just like that :( sorry pillow you are my favorite but not that much of a favorite. i will find you in the wild like god intended or something.
i've also started watching the tv show and (after i got past the beginning second hand embarrassment that prevented me from watching any further than the first 10 seconds of an episode) i enjoy it a little too much for someone of my age. the first episode had a joke that made me actually laugh out loud so i believe it is jover for me and i need to watch the whole series now. ill probably watch the webisodes after that (i believe ive already seen two of them, which were the ones bundled with the search for pillow movie? i dont have the disc near me now as i write this so i cant pop it in and check right now) and then. idk what ill do. make my own episodes or something lol.

its honestly ridiculous because i literally couldn't get myself to care about any ship before this. i tried (back when i thought i was just weird instead of aroace) but it didn't work. but of course the LALALOOPSY YURI is the ship that breaks all of that and gets me to write fluff. my life is a JOOOOKEEEE.
(all said lightheartedly. i do genuinely like this ship, though its probably based like on nothing in canon lol)

the funniest thing about the whole situation is that it genuinely came to me via possession. like- look. look look look. heres my situation.
imagine you're me, circa 2025 on a random night in march. doing whatever the fuck. suddenly, you're hit with the desire for yuri. this is like the third(?ish) time its happened and you're genuinely confused at these random brain blasts. for some reason, you decide to humor the thought this time... but you realize you. dont have any yuri ships. to humor the desire with.
you rack your brain for a moment. who the hell could you think of to pair together???

so um. anyways. no yeah i literally just sat there for 4 hours doing nothing but thinking about those two. as i said, genuine possession moment.
so now i guess im a diehard defender of this ship now. i dont Care if it has No Basis In Canon Like At All. you people do it all the time with your milquetoast yaoi pairings. i can do it with my random sort-of-rairpair yuri couple and YOU CANT STOP ME

this gets its own section because i cant stop thinking about it its so funny.
when my lalaloopsy hyperfix kicked in again i went browsing through a bunch of old lalaloopsy blogs on tumblr because thats where all the good content is, and surprisingly back in like 2020-2021 there was a small dedicated lalaloopsy group. nowadays all of these blogs lay dormant (they might have moved to a discord server..? which i am obviously not joining to find out lol) but back then they were pretty active so a lot of the posts were from these people and their little friendgroup.
so ive been browsing one of them for an hour, maybe two at this point, and eventually i reach one post. this post.

and let me tell you. reading this post for the first time made me burst out laughing. like genuine laughter.
i love the phrase 'men have no rights in lalaloopsy land' so fucking much. its so stupid. ive never been so mad that a blog was terminated than this moment because i would love to see if this blog had any more gems like this. i loved it so much that i printed it out and taped it to my wall. men have no rights in lalaloopsy land, AS IT SHOULD BE. fuck them men. i am never going to stop thinking about this. tumblr user storm-e-skies will forever stay rent free in my head solely bc of this post. im going to explode.
