SHRINES

yeah of course i have a past interest in warrior cats. look at me. what did you expect?
my wc interest is very much focused on the lens of a young tween learning everything about the series second-hand via online forums and amvs. i never actually got access to any of the books, except (UNFORTUNATELY) dawn of the clans in around 7th/8th grade. i never finished the series because my English teacher wanted me to diversify my book selection (i was reading the series for a book program) so i stopped around book 3 or 4 iirc? the only reaction i remember having to the book was that i got so mad about tom existing at all that i had to put the book down several times. if i got to the point where the fucker apparently got a redemption death i think i would have lost it.
i also bought and tried to read the prophecies begin but i stopped i think by book 4 or 5 because of the suspense of waiting for swiftpaws death?? also i already knew what was going to happen so it wasn't fully engaging lol.
nowadays ive been passively keeping up with the books via reactions to others (have you seen how fucking mask off stormclans folly got. like holy shit. what the hell) and making vague fancontent through ocs or meta comics every now and again. thats it.

binged a playthrough of this game a while back after finding it through that one 'cursed' edit of louvre museum invasion that circulated around and i will say. i think it is Neat :)
some of the plot beats are increasingly kind of funny in hindsight like him bringing the actual plot-important-relic to the scene where he was going to trick the antagonist into grabbing a fake version (for bragging rights???? i guess????) and in response the antagonist just shooting him in the abdomen. like with an actual gun. a pistol. he then walks it off a scene later and it is not mentioned again in the whole entire game. thats crazy.
i ended up making a little personal rewrite interpretation in my head for funsies, though ive never really written it down fully. maybe i should.
anyways the real reason rt still bangs around in my head is that theres a blog on tumblr called @is-there-a-rt-sequel-yet who has apparently been counting daily from the day the game came out, MANUALLY, for 12 YEARS??? as their blog was created in 2013????? which is such a ballsy fucking move that i cant help but respect. i need sega to create a rhythm thief sequel for this person and this person only. they deserve it at this point.

(eggman voice) im back in the fucking BUILDING AGAIN
cookie run ovenbreak was my entire life back in 2019-2021 and honestly probably kept me alive during that time period (the robopocalypse au discord server are the true mvps. im still mutuals with a few of them on tumblr even today) but i kind of grew out of it after that.... until twenty fucking twenty five when i clicked on a little video about a 'greenbell cookie' in my recommended out of curiosity, and promptly lost it when i realized she was an honest to god timelooper who dies a minimum of 6 times. canonically. so now im back in the mines but this time just for cookie run tower of adventures. im ambivalent about ovenbreak nowadays and kingdom is. well its fine i just hate those two yaoi fucks. why is that the Only thing people make for that game. i barely see anything about the side characters its frankly kind of annoying.
ahem. i really like greenbell cookie btw. for the longest time it seemed like they put her in a timeloop for literally no reason which is really funny. i made 9 stimboards in her image based on each ending you can get. i need to make a gajillion aus revolving around her specifically for my own health. you have no idea how tempted i was to spend my hard earned cash on every single official piece of merch there is of her. i would say 'play tower of adventures' but at the end of the day it is also a gatcha game so uhhh. maybe not. dont spend your money on gambling kids. follow my example and just never spend a single cent on this game.

you know how sometimes people remark on getting into a piece of media during a very bad time in their life, and if it hits juuust in the right spot, it kind of ends up morphing and becoming a 'coping mechanism' of sorts?
brothership was like this for me.
it was a bizarrely weird situation to be apart of considering i have not had a piece of media make me react that way before or since.
i watched a playthrough of this game a month after it came out, while i was severely depressed. i ended up latching onto connie of all characters Hard. it morphed from a mild curiosity of a small detail ("how long was connie alone on shipshape island before snoutlet and/or mario & luigi found her?") into a very personal au i cant describe as anything but heavy projection of what i was going through at the time. i never posted this au anywhere. i dont think i ever will, it is (as mentioned) very personal and most likely out of character for some of the cast. i doubt anyone other than me wouldve enjoyed it.
it was also a time of.. a complete change in my artstyle? and the creation of multiple art pieces that i still hold as some of my favorites to this day? i even started writing a multi-chapter fic (which i never do).
..it did not get past chapter 1 unfortunately, despite my planning. maybe funneling my own depressive feelings into cozette as a way of writing her properly was.. not the best idea, longevity wise. oops.
the whole experience was quite odd. and kind of stings in retrospect- if my best work is only made through a funneling of my own anguish... ah. besides the point.
im way past that episode in my life, but i cant really go back to enjoying the game. it reminds me of all the feelings i had during that time. its.. covered in the ooze for lack of a better term. unfortunate. i still like connie though.
(and id like to revisit that fic eventually. i thought it had an interesting premise...)

forgive me if this isn't really that descriptive but my main omori fixation was... uh, six whole years ago. my memory of that time aint so clear.
funnily enough i had no idea over the whole 'game was in development hell for nearly a decade' thing because i. only heard abt it when it finally released LOL.
(honestly i find all of that rather interesting to look at. i quite like looking at cut content and how things shift and change during development... what gets left on the cutting room floor....)
god i really am trying to remember what really drew me in... probably all of the outwards presentation stuff bc i only interacted thru video playthroughs. my laptop was extremely shitty at the time so there was no way it could've ran it ">->
i still think the artstyle is very cool and i definitely had some of it seep into my own art, intentional or not. for a whole year i used the ost as a way to put myself in 'zoned out mode' when doing work. probably enjoyed the story but i genuinely cant remember any of my own thoughts back then. technically the source of one of my most favorite birthday gifts.
nowadays it kind of lurks in the back of my mind, peeking up every now and again. definitely not a forefront (i dont even like browsing fandom tags bc 95% of it is just SHIPPINGGGG) but ive been watching some mod showcases recently.
i like looking at headspace basil :) i like headspace basil. basil :)

i am a deltarune oldhead i played that shit when it was given out like toby fox got his twitter hacked and was passing out a virus link. i was like "sir yes sir i WILL download this .exe file that says 'you accept everything that will happen going forward' on it" and then i got scared shitless on my second playthrough of chapter 1 because i thought the videogame was alive. haha.
i think it is very good but have slowly lost interest over the years, probably a mix of the waits between chapters being so long, the game itself kind of losing the 'meta' sheen that i was originally interested in back in 2018 (as the story continues)... and the fact i aint a teenager anymore lol.
i dunno. i still hold deltarune near and dear to my heart, and i still browse fancontent for it rather frequently but like... its been multiple months and im only 2-3 hours into chapter 5 (ToT). i just cant get myself to care as i did before. very sad.
i AM going to complete it eventually (because i DID buy the game) but my actual motivation to do so is... very low.
..i still need to finish the roaring knight fight in chapt 3 for my complete save too...
